Mr. Michalis K. Christofi, a devout Christian and a profoundly religious man, decided to make an offering – a tribute to the Panagia, whom he had always regarded as his patron saint and guardian angel – in memory of his wife Eleni and his daughter Man. Thus, he contacted the ecclesiastical authorities of the community and informed them of his intention and decision to dedicate himself to the Panagia.
