The old church of the village is dedicated to Panagia and on September 8 it commemorates the Virgin’s birth. It pertains to the category of basilicas with wooden roofs. In the mountainous and semi-mountainous regions of Cyprus, this single-room variety with a gabled roof is prevalent. As is typical for such temples, a semicircular projection terminates on the east side. However, this is not observed at the Panagia Trmiklini sanctuary. In contrast, the masonry on the temple’s exterior and east side is in a straight line.
