Route : Lania – Agios Mamas – Trimiklini – Lania. Suitable for Gravel Bike or MTB

The route is carefully designed for experienced cyclists who want to explore the small, picturesque villages of the area. The route passes close to churches, chapels, and thematic museums of the area.

The route is mostly offroad with some parts of asphalt road. The difficulty level of this route is intermediate, with some small difficult up-hills and downhills, while in some points you might need to get off and walk the route.

Intermediate mountain bike ride. Good fitness required. Intermediate riding skills necessary.

The route is challenging but pleasant. It can be an enjoyable experience with friends while exploring the western part of the Commandaria area and the villages of Lania, Agios Mamas and Trimiklini. Between dense vegetation with vines and citrus, the route extends to the mountains above Lania and Agios Mamas, while in Trimiklini you will cycle near the river Kouris. In Lania village you can visit the Agricultural Museum, the Wine Press, the Traditional Shoe Maker’s Museum, and a number of beautiful and admirable religious monuments. The church Panayia of Valana is located in the centre of the village. Throughout the village you will come across many fountains with spring water since the area is blessed with plenty of water all year round. Riding through Lania you will be charmed by its traditional paved alleys, the art workshops, the architecture and the delightful gardens of the locals. The local winery and Agios Mamas church in the center of Agios Mamas village are also worth visiting. In Trimiklini you will be impressed by the only two-storey bridge in Cyprus. Visitors during autumn, will have the opportunity to taste pure and traditionally made palouze (a pudding with grape juice).
