This pilgrimage has no primordial history, as its history only dates back to 1999. Then, two devout and God-fearing sisters made the divinely inspired decision and made a lifelong commitment to donate privately owned parcels of land, which they had inherited from their mother, to the Virgin Mary in order to construct a pilgrimage church in the region. Thus, the two sisters from Trimiklini, Ms. Stella Evangelou and Eleni Ath. Zenonos, the gens of Cyprus and Greece K. Panagi, Trimiklini residents renowned for their inherent religiosity and faith in the Divine, implemented the plan. The new owner, the Holy Monastery of Panagia Amasgous, committed to promoting the project and utilizing the donated property in accordance with the desires of the donors following the official land transfer document.
The hermitage of Ag. Christos and Agios Helladios remains a blessed and revered pilgrimage and is a blessing from God and a worthy site for pilgrimage, prayer, and spiritual enlightenment for the village.
